CONSTITUTION OF SEPHIS
A series of laws and codes regarding imperial authority drawn up by the first Emperor, Sephis I, framing the positions and limits of both the imperial throne and the Order of Omicron itself. A notable and somewhat notorious point of the Constitution of Sephis is that an Emperor must be crowned by a universally accepted Holy Father to wield full imperial authority. It is the violation of this very clause that led to the period of history known as the Broken Empire. It is, perhaps, also important to note that the current Emperor, being Sephis VI, has not been crowned by a Holy Father, the position having been dissolved by Wrenis in 523 LC.
This has created a situation comparable to just before the time of the Broken Empire. |
