KINGDOM

Unit of political division within the Corianth Empire, kingdoms generally have a great degree of autonomy. The principle exception to this are the small Inner Kingdoms, which, along with the city of Corianth, are considered to be the direct dominion of the Emperor himself, who draws his principal income from those lands.

As to the rest, they suffer the typical political disturbances of usurpation, civil war, inter-kingdom warfare, and peasant revolt. Although the respective kings who may rule a kingdom generally belong to the Palantine Confederation, it has been little able to wholly prevent kingdoms from disappearing the map where the political will to recover or protect does not exist.

A number of kingdoms are referred to in the first volume, not least Anpolar, Athoril, Cerdona, Induin, Irithia, Lionossus and Minolar.
