A captain in the Emperors Guard, he is present at Lieutenant Abercenda's birthday celebrations, and later escorts Colonel Araxios away during the duel between Ulric and Captain Polinos. Captain Merinian is also among that column of Emperors Guard whom Dalathos and Ulric ride out with as part of their mission to locate and escort the especially important carriage.
