WORKHOUSES
Institutions set up in the city of Corianth after the period known as the Broken Empire, as a partial solution to rampant unemployment. For some time since they have been used to provide shelter and housing for orphans and street children, who reciprocate the kindness and honour of their position by providing cheap and hard labour within large dirty buildings. As well as being used for often difficult and dangerous menial tasks, many are also exploited sexually by the owners.
For their employment under Councillor Amberlin, the main characters are assigned the task of visiting designated Workhouses to inspect for signs that the buildings are being used for smuggling. |
