WRENIS
Son of Emperor Armon III, he was appointed in the position of Holy Father to remove the irreconcilable differences with the then Holy Father Ophis XII. However, Wrenis shared his father's increasing despair with the functioning of the Order of Omicron, and after a particularly embarrassing diplomatic incident, where representatives from overseas governments were hit by flying debris after stumbling into a fight between two colleges, Wrenis decided upon drastic action.
Invoking the Infallibility clause of Gallinios II, Wrenis then declared the permanent dissolution of not simply the position of Holy Father, but also of the College of Cardinals themselves, leaving the three original colleges of the Order of Omicron adrift and without guidance.
Within months of his reforms, both Wrenis and his father Emperor Armon III had been murdered, and serious factional fighting within the ranks of the Order of Omicron broke out, most of the Cardinals being assassinated by opposing theological groups.
The Order of Omicron has remained adrift since, Lord Rynell only managing to sustain his own power there by claiming to be the sanctioned representative of the Cardinal Pontiphas, Nedianis, through the bestowing of his Ring of Authority upon Rynell. Lord Rynell has also seen it necessary to ally his own College of Armaments with the College of Ministers, under Siyat Bren, to forestall the rising and fanatical ambitions of Father Dinemetis, Chair Deacon of the larger College of Administrators. |
