In Eptemian lore there are twelve constellations of the zodiac, the personifications of which the Eptemian hero Heraminon was supposed to have outwitted in one of his many tests and challenges. Only two members of this zodiac, Herel the Shepherd, and Amoth the Goat Herd, are mentioned by name in the first volume.
